Getting Started

When will I hear back after I complete the initial sign-up form?

In 24 to 72 hours you will receive an email from our intake coordinator informing you that your referral has been received. Once that is received, you will be informed if we take your insurance, what the co-pay is, and your expected time (or wait time) for service.

How do I find the right therapist for me?

Therapy is about exploring behaviors, emotions, and thought patterns to help you better understand yourself and make changes that will serve your life and goals. Some therapists take an unstructured approach, allowing you to explore whatever is on your mind and gain insights over time (i.e., psychodynamic therapy). Other therapists use a goal-oriented method (i.e., cognitive behavioral therapy), which may include homework between sessions -- some use a combination of both!

Based on how you’re most comfortable learning and communicating, one approach may be better suited to your needs than another. Consultations will help you determine what’s best. We have a diverse group of clicians. Our intake coordinator will support in helping you choose the right therapist for you.

How is my privacy and security protected? What are the HIPPA policies?

State Street Wellness adheres and protects the privacy and confidentiality of all our patients. During the intake process clients are provided with a HeartShare's Privacy Guidelines and HIPPA compliance.

Can I request to work with a specific clinician?

Yes you are able to request a specific clinician, but they cannot be guaranteed. If you do not receive the therapist you requested we will connect you with a therapist that best fits your needs. If you would like to change your therapist, you can do so through our front desk.

How long are therapy sessions?

Therapy sessions are typically 30-45 minutes long once a week, but this can vary depending on your personalized care plan. Clients, in most cases, start with a session once a week especially towards the beginning of your theraputic visit.

How do I become a client?

Potential clients must complete an intake assessment to determine if they are appropriate for treatment at our clinic. This can be done through our sign-up form linked here. There might be further assessment by psychiatric staff needed, but it is not required in order to complete the assessment process to be enrolled in the clinic.

Is there a Telehealth therapy option available?

Although Telehealth is available, clients must meet the requirements to be eligiable to enage in telehealth sessions. In-person sessions allow a therapist to get to know you better and determine the most effective methods for your needs.
