Art Therapy

This form of psychotherapy uses artmaking to assist with communication. It helps individuals explore their emotions, develop self-awareness, cope with stress, boost self-esteem, and work through traumatic experiences.

Art therapists guide clients through creative processes using a wide range of art forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, or collage. This process allows clients to express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to articulate in words.

Art therapy can be beneficial for people of all ages, but is especially helpful with children and adolescents who may not be comfortable in a more traditional therapy setting.

Group Therapy

This is a form of psychotherapy where a small group  will meet regularly under the guidance of one of our therapists to discuss and explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The group setting provides a supportive environment where members can share experiences, offer support, and gain insight from others who may have similar issues.

Here at State Street Healing, we offer various types of support groups that can provide help for anger management, trauma, substance abuse, mindfulness and more. Support groups change regularly, browse our current offers.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely used therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors.

This approach helps individuals manage their emotions, improve problem-solving skills, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. CBT has been shown to be effective for various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and stress.

Medication Management

Medication management is the process of overseeing and optimizing a patient’s use of medications to ensure they are taken safely, effectively, and as prescribed.

This service is typically provided by staff psychiatrists and is essential for individuals who are taking multiple medications or have complex health conditions.

Therapeutic Visitation

Therapeutic visitation gives the parent and child(ren) the opportunity to connect with each other in a safe setting. This approach also seeks to assist parents in learning new parenting skills and gaining new perspectives about their relationships with their children.

This service also allows parents to communicate with the therapist in order to discuss progress reports.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is a form of intervention that involves therapists providing information about patient’s diagnosis, symptoms, or the method of treatment that will be used during their appointments.

This form of therapy is considered to be an important aspect of psychological treatment and is recommended in the treatment of schizophrenia. The goal of psychoeducation is to help clients understand and cope with their diagnoses and to improve treatment adherence, as clients who understand their treatment are better able to follow through on recommendations.

Motivational Interviewing

This counseling technique is aimed at exploring and resolving ambivalence within individuals to facilitate behavior change.

This involves a collaborative conversation where the therapist encourages the person to express their own motivations for change. MI is often used in addressing issues like addiction, where hesitation about change is common, and it helps individuals find their internal motivation to make positive changes in their lives.
